It’s been a while since I posted anything. I’ve been busy taking care of my parents. I’ve also had some health issues that have been slowing me down. I’m happy to say that I’m on the mend and life, although different, is getting back to some kind of normal (whatever that is!?).
1. What’s been going on in my life?
Two years ago my father was diagnosed with mixed dementia and from that point, I’ve been caring for both of my parents which I plan to blog about later.
Hobby-wise, I’ve been drawing a lot lately and I’m really enjoying that, it’s been years since I drew or sketched in a traditional sense. 3D sculpting is still going on and I have lots of work to share and blog about on that front.
2. What’s been going on with The Painted Dragon?
The idea of The Painted Dragon has changed a lot in the last few years. My love for painting and wargaming has really taken a step back, to the point that I am seriously considering selling the majority of my collection. I just don’t have the drive or enthusiasm that I once had. I will be keeping the parts of my collection that have sentimental value though and hopefully I’ll get the urge to finish a few projects in the future but the rest will be going.
The financial crisis we’re all going through has played a part in my hobby decision to some extent, which I plan to blog about at some point in the future.
Why have I settled on a blog for the new website?
The idea of blogging and how it is done has evolved greatly over the years. There are many more ways to blog than there were years ago and certainly more ways to create a website than when I first started The Painted Dragon (remember the forum?). The way people blog has changed as well. Blogs are not just for writing articles anymore, so I have decided to use this space as a place to document my art and 3D projects and ramble on about my thoughts and general musings.
3. What’s next?
Lots of ideas going on but for now, my goal is to get blogging and sharing images of my projects.
